The News Tribune reports: "Deion Branch has not done anything other than rehabilitation work for the past two weeks, but he will have his injured heel tested this week."
Man, Branch rehabbed his torn ACL all year then injured the heel in his very first game back. He is totally snake-bitten… and I think his bad mojo spread to the entire team.
Do you realize the Seahawks have had 12 different wide receivers on the field this year? The injuries have been astounding. Branch, Bobby Engram, Nate Burleson, Koren Robinson, Keary Colbert, Billy McMullen, Courtney Taylor, Jordan Kent, Ben Obomanu, Logan Payne, Michael Bumpus, and current QB Seneca Wallace have all played. 12 different WRs in just half a season.
Back to Branch… He's cost this team in future talent and in piles of cash. He has only played in 26 of a possible 40 games as a Seahawk, while they've paid him almost $20 million dollars. And two years ago they traded New England a 2007 1st-round pick for Branch. Seattle could have picked OTs Joe Staley or Tony Ugoh with that pick. So anyway, the Patriots used that Seattle pick to draft S Brandon Meriweather, then were able to ship their own 2007 1st-rounder to San Fran for a 1st round pick this year – which the Pats turned into super-rookie LB Jerod Mayo.
